Spray Foam Insulation
Where NOT to use it -
Closed cell spray foam is a great product for sealing out every little air
leak. But, it will hinder your ability to inspect the structure if it is
installed in the rim (band) joist area of the crawl space. This issue will come
into play when selling a home or getting a termite inspection.

The DrySpace™ Vapor Barrier

 DrySpace™ is a high strength,
polyester reinforced, polyethylene
crawl space vapor
barrier. It boasts a thick 5 layer construction that delivers year round
protection from moisture, odor and Radon Gas. Our crawl space vapor
barriers are made from high quality virgin materials and are
built to last the in the harsh crawl space environment. The
Foundation
Seal Tape provides a lasting bond between the DrySpace™
and the foundation wall and prevents moisture from seeping
around this bond which is critical to moisture control. The final piece
to this unique system is the
Foundation Pins, which give
additional mechanical support to the DrySpace™ vapor barrier
insuring long lasting moisture protection. |

The 15 gal Instadry sump kit
includes the Zoeller M-53 sump
pump and the Radon approved Basin. The sump is plumbed to, and
includes, the check valve. It has a 3" vent hole in the lid for
venting Radon gas and odors outdoors and a 1 1/2" water
discharge. Ready to install per the manufacture requirements.
This basin is 18" wide and 17" deep capable of holding 15
gallons of water allowing the M-53 to pump a full cycle of water
without causing premature wear.
This basin also incorporates an "Anti-Float" plate mounted on
the bottom of the basin to prevent hydrostatic water pressure
from pushing the basin out of the ground in high water table
areas. This design is exclusive to CrawlSpace Concepts.
Don't rely on the the "short" basin design offered by others
to deliver reliable performance. The short basin design can
cause short cycling of the sump pump which will result in
shortening the life of the motor.

Looking a little closer… Our
Radon
Approved basin has small holes drilled in the sides to control ground
water before it reaches the surface. The basin is buried in 4” of pea
stone to filter out the dirt so the only thing leaving your crawl space
is water. |
DrySpace™ is used as a vapor barrier
on the floors and walls of dirt and concrete crawl spaces. The seams are taped
and it is sealed and fastened to the foundation to prevent moisture from
entering the crawl space. This crawl space vapor barrier is superior to the average visqueen
plastic that can be bought at any home improvement store because it has a
polyester fiber reinforcement that makes the durability unbeatable and it is
made from virgin polyethylene resins for the longest service live available. This will be
the only vapor barrier you will need to install in your crawl space.
